Apparently Tod Ridgeway really wanted his own page. For months
we had warned him, one of our two so-called "West Newport representatives",
that he needs to begin representing his West Newport renters as well as owners.
Well, apparently that didn't sink in, so for the following three reasons we're dedicating
this page to Tod Ridgeway. Enjoy...
- On Thursday, July 3rd, in the OC Register, we read:
Councilman Tod Ridgeway said he believes that promoting owner occupancy in an area that
is now composed mostly of rentals could provide a long-term solution.
HE FINALLY ADMITS IT! Translation = RENTERS GET OUT!
If we are going to demand Nichols resignation for stating that there are too many
Mexicans on the beach, then we should demand Ridgeway's resignation for
stating that there are too many renters on the peninsula! It's time
to begin fighting back!
Renters, prepare yourselves: click on our new "Renters Rights" page to learn your rights. It's only a
matter of time before Tod leads this oppressive regime on to it's next attack on us!
- The second reason, perhaps the "straw that broke the camel's back" for us,
is the fact that he, like his fellow conspirator, Gary Proctor,
didn't listen to us when we petitioned him and spoke out against the 4th of July Laws.
In fact, to be honest with you, he all but spearheaded the effort behind the scenes!
Now, today in the OC Register we learn that 60% of West Newport is comprised of RENTERS,
primarily between the ages of 25-34. So, why does he not like us, his constituents? Well,
that brings us to our final, and perhaps, most important point - we didn't pay for him!
- BIG DEVELOPER MONEY bought him his seat. Whatever happened to "of the
people, by the people, and for the people"? BIG DEVELOPER MONEY, must have
a BIG REASON to have him there, right? Check out our latest page, "Who
Bought Tod?"
Also, Greenlight reports that 65% of Tod Ridgeway's campaign contributions came from developers
and 35% from out-of-towners. Hmmm... I wonder why they would spend so
much money to get Tod elected. They must want something in return, right?
Let us think, right now there is a MASSIVE DEVELOPMENT going up in Newport Coast, but how
does that affect West Newport? Simple, they want to lock this place down until they get
these BILLIONS OF DOLLARS in developments built and sold! Bad publicity in West Newport
could drive down those housing values. It's just that simple.
